VoltSaga publishes planning estimates alongside public policy references. This page explains which figures are modeled, what has been checked, and where to verify a real offer.
Electricity planning baselines
The state rates in the calculator belong to VoltSaga's August 2026 model. They are rounded planning assumptions informed by residential electricity data, not a live feed, a verified current tariff, or a direct quotation of an EIA reporting period.
U.S. EIA Electric Power Monthly provides official electricity price context. Your provider's current tariff and your bill are the sources for your personal calculation. Replacing the rate in the calculator does not change the published state baseline.
Federal purchase credits
Federal new, used, and commercial clean-vehicle purchase credits are unavailable for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. Earlier qualifying acquisitions can have different treatment.
Source: IRS clean vehicle credits. Federal guidance checked . VoltSaga's energy-savings result does not include a purchase credit.
Federal charger credits
Federal 30C does not cover equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. Earlier eligible installations may still qualify when filing, subject to location and tax rules.
Source: IRS charger credit (30C). Federal guidance checked . A filing date and an installation's placed-in-service date are different; the calculator does not determine tax eligibility.
State and utility programs
State descriptions are August 2026 research snapshots. They are not a verified inventory of currently open programs, available funds, or eligible vehicles. A federal-source review does not imply that every state or utility program was rechecked.
VoltSaga is the publisher of the model and the worked examples. The methodology documents the arithmetic, charging losses, fuel baseline, session estimates and time-of-use multipliers. These assumptions are not presented as official utility offers.
Vehicle battery and efficiency entries are model inputs, not manufacturer-certified specifications for every trim, model year or operating condition. Monthly modeled savings cover energy only.
Review and correction policy
Published by VoltSaga. Guide revision: . Review dates identify the material actually checked; they do not advance automatically when the site is deployed.
When revising a claim, check the primary source, update the visible answer and its source link together, and record the affected date. FAQ text and machine-readable answers share the same content. Unknown funding or eligibility is described as unconfirmed rather than inferred from a program name.
